The 21st Annual NMJC Foundation Golf Tournament is slated for Saturday, the 12th of June, at Rockwind Community Links. All golfers are invited to participate in this worthwhile event that directly helps New Mexico Junior College students and faculty by raising money to fund both scholarships and programs.

Tournament Details:

  • Format for the 18-hole tournament is a two-person Scramble.
  • Entry fee for each two-person team is $250.00, with lunch included.
  • Mulligans are available for purchase.
  • The field is limited to 60 teams.
  • Tee times will be assigned from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Prizes:

Cash prizes will be awarded to the golf tournament winners. In addition, $100,000 is offered for a Hole-in-One; this prize is sponsored by the Permian Auto Group. Additionally, prizes will be awarded for the “longest drive*” and “closest to the pin”.

Raffle:

As a special bonus every participant in the tournament will be given one “free” raffle ticket, with additional tickets available for $20.00 each. The raffle winner will receive a pair of airline tickets provided by FlyHobbs, “the marketing and awareness campaign for the air services at Lea County Regional Airport.” FlyHobbs is a joint project of Lea County, the City of Hobbs and the Economic Development Corporation of Lea County. FlyHobbs is dedicated to bringing “commercial air service to the region through community activities, advertising campaigns, and public awareness activities.”

According to information published at the NMJC website: the raffle winner must use his or her winning pair of airline tickets by February, 17, 2022. These tickets are “valid for travel between the Continental United States, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and Central America.”

Purpose of Event

This annual fundraising golf tournament helps to support scholarships and programs for students attending New Mexico Junior College. Through the years the monies raised at the NMJC Foundation Golf Tournament, along with other donations, have contributed approximately $3,335,000 to student scholarships and more than $1,255,000 to program assistance for students and faculty. The goal is to further the Foundation’s mission of encouraging “success through learning” by promoting and valuing “excellence, effectiveness, responsiveness, access, and community involvement”.
